Memories
have a tendency to forge their way into the foreground of our
daily lives and thoughts: especially painful ones. In this visually
beautiful and lyrical film, Zelimo is a young boy who escapes
anti-Semitic former Soviet Union only to be baited as a commie
spy by kids at an orthodox Jewish camp in New York. As events
during a pivotal summer in his life unfold, the tragic incidents
that brought Zelimo and his mother to America crystallize in disruptive,
almost frightening flashbacks, leaving the viewer with a story
that won't soon be forgotten.
